Pawprint

A calm, clinic-ready identity for a pet health app, turning scattered vaccination cards and vet reminders into one record that owners can read without a medical degree.

Year

2026

Scope

Identity · App design · Illustration · Clinic print

The idea

Taking a worried animal to the vet is stressful enough without an app that looks like it wants to sell you insurance. Pawprint keeps a pet’s full history in one place and books the appointment, and the brand needed the manners of a good clinic: clean, calm, no clutter on the counter. We designed it for a waiting room, not a billboard.

The work

Four pebble shapes make the mark, reading as a paw print from a distance and a record icon close up. We chose an unfussy sans with open counters for small screens and clinic printouts, sage and oat with one alert red used only when it matters, and animal illustrations drawn without faces, so nothing looks sad.

What happened

Forty clinics across Portugal and Spain adopted Pawprint in its first year, several of them because reception staff liked the printouts. The no-faces rule, Hanna reports, is what vets comment on most. My own dog’s records live in it now, the only test I take seriously.

“Every screen was designed for the worst day a pet owner has, and it shows.”
